We’re passionate about sharing our skills, and constantly learning. If one of the team discovers something new, it won’t be long before we’re gleefully experimenting together. That’s the approach we bring to all the teaching we do. Our enthusiasm spreads quickly – if you learn with us you’ll definitely enjoy it.

Parade Skills - Classes and Workshops

Our parade skills classes are always popular. We run these in the build up to parades, so participants have the opportunity to show off their new skills at the event. If you’d like to run these training sessions in your community we can provide experienced Dance, Drumming, Electronic Music and Stilt-Walking teachers.

Education settings

Several members of our team are Qualified Teachers with experience across all age ranges. If you require a formal education project for a school or college, we’ll be happy to plan something bespoke. Curriculum planning doesn’t faze us – send us your objectives and we’ll make sure your students have a truly enriching experience.

Masterclasses

If you’re an adult hoping to extend your skills, we have several different options. Our Masterclasses usually sell out quickly, with artists travelling from far and wide. In recent years, we’ve had sessions in giant puppet building, lantern-making, electrical lighting for outdoor pieces, puppet performance and mechanisms, use of textiles…if you have something in particular you’re keen to learn about, get in touch and we’ll try our best to make it happen.

Internships

Our training has launched the careers of many outdoor artists. We provide a rounded experience, with interns fully involved in the planning of events, workshop delivery and making art alongside our lead artists. If you’re interested in working within our sector, this is a fantastic way to build the skills you’ll need. Follow us on social media to be among the first to hear about upcoming opportunities.

Volunteers

Volunteering is another great way to gain experience with us and extend your learning. In particular, look out on social media for any upcoming “Big Makes”. These are our volunteer-focused days, when we have time to introduce new approaches to making and get to know you better. You can get in touch with us about volunteering with us via this page.
