We were commissioned by Milton Keynes City Council to deliver two parades during the festival day with the theme of Mid Summers day.
The first parade represented a summers day in its full colour in bloom. The sun led the parade followed by giant flowers, bees, colourful birds, and the majestic Beech Queen. We had a beautiful score of music inspired by folky music which was accompanied by the Dhol2Dhol drummers. We had the youth dance group MK Dance Theatre dressed in flower costumes joining the parade too.
The evening parade represented the end of the longest day with nocturnal animals venturing out to meet the crowds – fox, badger and owl. The dance group returned this time as majestic forest deer and Garden City Samba led the parade.
