LOVE MAKING MUSIC? HANDMADE FANTASY PARADE BAND NE LOVE MAKING MUSIC? HANDMADE FANTASY PARADE BAND NEEDS YOU! Are you ready to bring rhythm, energy, and a bit of joyful chaos to the streets of Hebden Bridge? We’re forming a brand-new parade band, and we want YOU to be a part of it! The band will be a mix of: 🥁 Grooves and percussion – whether you’re a seasoned player or a total beginner, we’ll get you drumming together. 🎵 Music reading – from simple to harder notation for those who fancy it, but no pressure if you prefer to play by ear. 🔥 Free-improv madness – expect big sounds, spontaneous riffs, and a whole lot of fun. We’re excited to be joined by members of the Calderdale Fantasy Orchestra, so expect an eclectic mix of instruments and a carnival of sound. Whether you play brass, woodwind, strings, percussion, or just want to sing, stomp and clap along, come and see what it’s all about! No prior experience needed—just bring your enthusiasm and an open mind - and an instrument if you want (as long as it’s portable and paradable). Suggested donation: £3-5 per session. 6:30-8:30pm at our Hebden Bridge workshop (Unit 5, Victoria Works, Victoria Rd, HX7 8LN on: Friday 9 May Friday 16 May Friday 23 May Friday 30 May Friday 6 June (NB no session on Friday 13 June) Friday 20 June Saturday 21 June - time and venue TBC Saturday 22 June - parade day
We’re making bunting for Cornholme Community Day We’re making bunting for Cornholme Community Day- In the morning we’ll be with the Lionesses of the Valley @lionessesotvalley at The Old Library from 10:30am-12noon. Then it’s off to Cornholme Primary School to get creative with the after school club at 3:30pm. Really looking forward to adding more happy shapes to this cheerful bunting!
Our ever-popular MAKING IT TOGETHER sessions are b Our ever-popular MAKING IT TOGETHER sessions are back! It’s always a lovely thing to spend time getting creative with others. These sessions are specially designed just for adults - it’s an opportunity to pick up some new skills and meet creative friends. We’ll be making new props for the summer parade, using lantern-making techniques and working with withies and tissue. There are two groups of 3 sessions of these, the first three are in May, on Tuesday evenings at the Handmade Productions workshop in Hebden Bridge: Tuesday 6th May 6-8:30pm Tuesday 13th May 6-8:30pm Tuesday 20th May 6-8:30pm The next group of three are in June: Wednesday 4th June 6-8:30pm Wednesday 11th June 6-8:30pm Wednesday 18th June 6-8.30pm It’s ESSENTIAL to book these free sessions - please email Lisa at volunteer@handmadeproductions.org.uk Spaces are limited so please only book if you are committed to attending.
