It’s especially lovely to see the new artworks created by different teams. The Gardener and Otter were made in a masterclass with @andrewkimpuppets of @thingumatheatre - an international team of artists have worked their socks off to create these two beauties in such a short time frame. They were a huge hit with the audience, well done to all involved! Also making a debut appearance was our @davidhoyleuniversal inspired character, created by a brilliant team of volunteers from @happyvalleypride - it brought so much joy to the parade, if ever a puppet was made for strutting, it was this one!😂 Thanks so much to the many teams and individuals who worked with us to make the parade such an inclusive, fun day out. 🌈It’s almost time for the @happyvalleypride Decade 🌈It’s almost time for the @happyvalleypride Decade Parade! Really looking forward to dancing through the streets of Hebden Bridge this Saturday, 25th July🌈 We’ll be setting off from near the Medical Centre on Valley Rd, shortly after 11am. Then we’ll head through town via Bridge Gate and Holme St, finishing in the park. The fun doesn’t end there, come to the park and enjoy The Big Day Out, running from 12-6:30pm. Full details on @happyvalleypride socials. See you there! PS, to answer a few questions - no this isn’t our usual “Hebden Bridge Handmade Parade”, but we’ve helped community members to make some gorgeous costumes and there will be NEW PUPPETS! Yaay! So it’s very similar to the normal parade, but a much smaller version. And all about PRIDE, obviously. Definitely bringing the usual joy❤️
VOLUNTEER CALL OUT - can you help with the @happyv VOLUNTEER CALL OUT - can you help with the @happyvalleypride Decade Parade, this Saturday 25th July? We really need some lovely folk to help carry artwork and flags, push a wheeled cart, or paint faces. 🌈Volunteers will be needed from from 10:15-12:15pm Face painters from 10-11:15am🌈 Please email volunteer@handmadeproductions.org.uk if you’re able to help, THANK YOU!

🌈FREE PRIDE PARADE WORKSHOP tomorrow - Saturday 18 🌈FREE PRIDE PARADE WORKSHOP tomorrow - Saturday 18th July from 1-4pm🌈 If you’d like to take part in the @happyvalleypride DECADE PARADE on Saturday 25th July at 11am, we’d love you to join us this Saturday to do a bit of making. We are inviting people from the LGBTQAI+ community, friends, families, and allies who would like to be in the PRIDE parade to come along to make simple props for the parade.
